Quit My Day Job

So, I quit my day job. The reasons for this are more then I have time to get into, but it gives me a great chance to focus on what I really love and want to be doing, which is creating. I've posted some new items to my etsy site thehoneypotshop.etsy.com, and tomorrow's plan is to get back on the wheel! I'm more excited then ever, and I hope the extra time and effort will show through my work. Keep checking back for updates!

I just unloaded and loaded another bisque kiln this morning. I'll be glazing and glaze firing them hopefully this weekend, and posting them next week. I also joined a pottery group on facebook this morning, http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Pottery/111956652150198 which looks like a great way for potters and pottery lovers to connect. More pieces and pictures coming soon.. <3

In Other News

Not much to do with pottery, but being a nature lover I thought this deserved a post. Some pictures from my Mama's garden. Some beautiful tomatoes and a single jalapeno (my favorite). 

Can't wait till the whole garden's full... <3

Need Sleep

Woke up bright and early this morning to get some pieces trimmed. I just didn't have the motivation to do any of it last night, although now I really wish I had. One thing I will say about trimming while your tired is that it bumps up the possiblity that you'll destroy something of importance, i.e. a beautiful berry bowl. Anyway, my other pieces that DID survive are looking good. I'll update with some pictures of "pieces in progress" soon.

New Work

Took a lot of new photos of my most recent work yesterday thanks to my amazing boyfriend who taught me some quick tips about photography. Also went on the wheel for a while, where after numerous trys and failures, finally made some new pieces. I haven't been on the wheel in a while because of all the shows I had lined up, so it took me a minute to get back into the groove. This is just a sample of what I accomplished. A Revamped Etsy

So clearly I'm not the best at this blogging situation, but I promise to start trying to keep this thing up to date starting now. The craft fairs have slowed down thankfully. Although they're fun, they're a lot of work! While waiting for my next one on July 18th in Nyack, I've been really busy trying to get things set up and keep them up to date on my Etsy page.  Just listed some new items on Etsy thehoneypotshop.etsy.com and on flickr. I've also recently put some of my pieces in a wonderful store in Nyack called The Klay Gallery!

All of this is very exciting and motivating! None of it's easy, but it's all worth it. Check out the new Etsy page. Hope you enjoy!
